This multi-national explosives manufacturer was experiencing an enormous amount of change within their US based business. As a long-term client, the company turned to Silvester & Company when their sitting Head of Human Resources was called back to the corporate headquarters to take on a new HR leadership position for the company. The timing was difficult; a new CEO for the US based business was about to be named and the HR team was in the midst of transformation.
This search called for a steady and experienced HR leader who was well equipped to take the reigns and continue the transformation efforts. We needed a leader who thrived on change and challenge and was at ease in a highly matrixed global company. Our client was open to a broad range of industry targets, so with creative license in hand (our favorite kind of search), we explored many possibilities.
Our team developed a strong slate of potential candidates that represented a variety of industries/companies that aligned with the unique dynamics of a large decentralized multinational manufacturer. In addition to relying on our well-established network of HR executives, we conducted new research to vet candidates who had recently led successful turnarounds of similar nature and complexity for organizations that may not have been on our radar previously.
Our client placed a diverse candidate who had "seen the record play" in this scenario many times before.
