Who our client needed

This story began with a CEO who was growing his business rapidly and had a significant gap in their bench strength talent for General Managers.  This client was a European based manufacturer who ran a decentralized P&L centric model. That meant we needed capable leaders who were equally skilled operational drivers and well-rounded business people.  

Our initial focus was delivering a leader for a unionized business with more than 1200 employees. This was a turnaround opportunity for a leader who would inspire and drive change within an entrenched community of employees.  As we delivered candidates, our search evolved and expanded into much more.

The search

Working with this client several times before, we understood immediately the kind of leader that would thrive in their organization.  We personally visited the manufacturing sites to assess and understand their unique challenges and cultural dynamics.  Empowered with a lot of information, we developed a highly targeted search strategy.  Having worked in the aerospace industry for decades now, we have a sense of each of the major corporation's cultural identities, who their key players are and the challenges they face.  We aligned our search to find leaders from the companies we knew had a similar business model.  To satisfy our and the client's curiosities, we extended our search into other industrial manufacturing industries as well.

The final fit

As the search evolved, so did the needs of our client.  We kept talking and adjusting.  They asked us to be opportunistic about other great talent that might fit within their other locations.  After the first presentation of candidates, our client interviewed six candidates and hired four in various locations throughout the country.  

These leaders have brought exceptional value to our client and become new clients as we've helped them build their teams.  Together, they have led large existing businesses with major back-logs, started green-field operations and transformed their teams.
